Ahh I love late day summer light. We took advantage of that for Man-Yee and Aaron’s engagement session in Kensington. They both have great smiles and are sweet and affectionate with each other. I look forward to their wedding in September.

Man-Yee and Aaron wanted to do some playful, action shots. I love jumping shots. It makes everyone feel like they are 8 again.

Jennifer and Derek were married on June 27th. We had a beautiful day and we visited Inglewood, Fish Creek and finally the Calgary Zoo for the reception. As the Conservatory is under construction, it was held in a tent on the grounds. I love tent weddings!

We were so lucky to have this baby gorilla come up to the window to check out Jenn. What a cutie.

On June 14th, Iram and Faiz had their civil wedding ceremony. It was short and sweet. I can’t wait for their upcoming celebrations next month. I am touched by how much this couple love each other. Faiz could not take his eyes off of his beautiful bride.

Claire, Maddie and Mike are making their debut here on my blog. I am sure there will be more to come in the future! Last Wednesday was a gorgeous evening for some photos at Stanley Park.

Claire wanted to make faces and Maddie was a natural. Too cute.

Oh, and their dad is not too bad either.

I love the how traditional Palka and Raj were for their marriage. Often a less literal approach to the white mare arrival is taken, ie., a Mustang or Ferrari for the Baraat. But in true traditional form, Raj arrived on a white mare. A special thanks to Sarah for helping out. You were great!

Palka was blinged out from head-to-toe. She was simply stunning.

The emotional Doli signifies the end of the ceremony. The bride is leaving her parents home and on the way she tosses handfuls of rice to wish them prosperity.

The Choora ceremony indicates the beginning of marriage. It involves a Pundit blessing bracelets that will be worn for 40 days by the bride. There were more tears, understandably, than the Mendhi.

Last weekend I was in Edmonton for Palka and Raj’s wedding. The festivities started on Thursday with Palka’s Mendhi ceremony. It was a colourful and joyous party with lots of food, dancing and beauty.

Palka is so beautiful. Her smile is maybe her best feature?

And of course, the gorgeous henna application.

Even Palka’s brother was hennaed -with his name.

It was great to see this family again and meet the little one Simon.

My angel pup turned 2 today. To celebrate, Peter and I took  him to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller. Harry you are the joy of my life. We love you so much!

Princess loves you and you love her, a little too hard sometimes.

I first met Jennifer and Derek last spring at her sister Melissa and Schuyler’s wedding. It was great to take advantage of some spring weather (which didn’t last long) last Friday evening in Canmore. You guys did great! I love Jen’s hair and makeup by Jackie.

Jen’s good at bringing the sass! I was pretty tempted to clip some of these pussywillows.
